Imagination Blogpost

Imagination is a very important characteristic to have. It helps us use our minds to be as creative as we want to be. I believe it is important to use imagination in tough situations or to make boring situations seem more interesting. A tough situation where you have to use your imagination would be having to create an advertisement that appeals to both an adult and a teen. You would have to use your imagination and creativity to come up with a graphic and phrase to really draw attention, as opposed to just slapping on a random picture and phrase on a piece of paper. A boring situation where imagination would be useful would be if an office room in your house was just plain white. Using your imagination and creativity, you would make the room color a bright, welcoming color or even multiple colors!

The movie Big Fish had many different examples of imagination. Ed's stories always had a little bit of exaggeration in them which he viewed as imagination. Ed found his imagination to be a positive thing, while his son, Will, didn't care much for his father's imagination, accusing him of telling lies his whole childhood. A couple of example's of how imagination was used in the movie was when Ed described his child birth to Will, saying he slipped and sled all the way down the hallway. Another example of imagination in the movie was when Ed described the set of Korean twins. In Ed's version, he portrayed the twins to be conjoined at the hip, adding to the peculiarity of the story. But, at Ed's funeral, Will saw the set of Korean twins, except they were not conjoined. It is very important that people utilize imagination everyday as it is what keeps the world spinning round and round!

Romanticism Blog Post

My ideal society would not only benefit me, but others around me as well. The first change that I would make in today's society would be curing world hunger. I know a lot of fun-loving, joyous people who struggle to keep three meals of food on the table everyday. This is a huge problem in today's society, not only in the United States, but in the rest of the world as well. The benefits of curing world hunger would be plentiful, the main benefit being less a lower death rate in countries such as India and countries in northern Africa. A con of ending world hunger would be a lack of natural resources, but that does not even compare to saving a person's life.

Next, I would make it mandatory that kids get their alcohol levels checked before driving a car. Drunk driving is a very serious problem amongst teens nowadays, and it is one of the top three causes of car accidents in teens, and adults as well. Today, we have the technology to make this dream a reality. The upside to checking blood alcohol levels before driving is a reduced car crash rate among teens and adults. The only problem with this is that it would be very expensive to check blood alcohol levels every time you start your car. Right now, you can purchase a breathalyzer for your car or bike that is analyzed 24/7 by representatives in a corporate office, but the unit itself costs fifteen hundred dollars, and it costs an additional five hundred dollars each month to keep it running.
